A learning environment that encourages cooperative learning
OBS De Meent Schildwolde is a posterchild for the core values of public education: equality, freedom and interaction! Living together, learning together. Cooperative teaching methods are used to encourage cooperative learning. OBS De Meent focuses on the individual child and finds it important that each child can develop optimally.
The furnishing plan for OBS De Meent takes account of its mission and vision, and this becomes instantly clear when you see the result. It is reflected in the classrooms, the student desk group setups and in the study plazas with playfully-designed and group arrangements.
CABINET WALLS
The application of Inline cabinet walls across the various rooms creates a clean and sleek look, but also adds function with whiteboards on the cabinet doors as well as storage bins under the seats that are integrated into the cabinet walls.
CLASSROOMS
The classrooms have also been furnished with pleasant seating areas including benches for children to create their own spot and work on projects together, for example. The classroom of grades 1 and 2 features a combination of benches with roll-out trays and colourful round seat cushions, ideal for making a circle discussion even more familiar or for playing an educational game together within the circle with objects from the roll-out trays.
