Circular thinking is in our genes.
In 1926, Gispen launched its first products: lamps. Each time W.H. Gispen added a new lamp to the collection, he incorporated the core elements of previously designed lamps. This approach allowed him to expand the collection efficiently, with minimal need for new components or production processes. Gispen was far ahead of his time—practicing what we now call "circular design."
From that point on, every design was an innovation in its own right. This legacy continued into office furniture and later evolved into complete office concepts. In 2015, we introduced the ZINN office chair, our most sustainable office chair to date.
Over 60% of our company’s environmental impact stems from material production. That’s why we use materials responsibly and continuously improve our furniture to reduce its environmental footprint.
Our furniture is built to last. We design it modularly, making it easy to disassemble and repair individual components. Additionally, our circular services help delay recycling for as long as possible.
Read more about our servicesYou can count on us to work towards our long-term goal: net zero emissions by 2050. This objective is part of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which we have committed to. By 2050, this means eliminating greenhouse gas emissions across all our business activities, including our five factories, warehouses, and supply chain.
You can count on us to keep materials in circulation through innovation. We also choose recycled materials that are recyclable.
