Minimizing the environmental impact starts with us at the drawing board. During the design process, we calculate the environmental impact of different design and material choices with a Life Cycle Assessment calculation. With our furniture, you choose to have minimal CO2 emissions.
When launching our furniture, we have the LCA calculations externally verified with an Environmental Footprint Declaration (EPD). Additionally, our Sustainability Sheets provide information on material usage, giving you a clear view of the CO2 impact of all our furniture.
A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the standardized method for calculating the impact of a product on the environment. We measure this impact by collecting the emission data from each life cycle stage of a product
The 5 lifecycle phases:
Phase 1: Extraction of raw materials
Phase 2: Production & processing
Phase 3: Transport
Phase 4: Use & retail
Phase 5: Waste management
We calculate our LCAs according to the ISO14025 and EN15804-2 method. When we launch our furniture, we have its LCA calculation externally verified with an Environmental Footprint Declaration (EPD). In our Sustainability Sheets you can read information about our use of materials. This gives you insight into the CO2 impact.
There are different LCA calculations. We do this with the Cradle to Grave model. In this phase, we measure the 5 life cycle phases. From the moment a product leaves the factory (cradle) to the end of its life cycle, including the waste phase (grave). The Cradle to Gate model only measures the first 2 phases: extraction of raw materials, and production and processing.
With a vitalizing and sustainable working environment, we help you achieve your sustainability goals. And with our working environments, we ensure that you can distinguish yourself as an attractive employer.
