SOLID AS A ROCK
While designing Dukdalf, Peter de Boer took inspiration from the wooden mooring dolphins (dukdalfs in Dutch) where boats berth. The eye-catching legs are sturdy and rugged-looking, and match well with the slender look of the tabletop. The Dukdalf table comes in many shapes and sizes, making it a comprehensive table programme.
The Dukdalf side table has a strong and outspoken personality. The top has a detachable, protruding steel edge which prevents things from sliding off. The legs have levelers to stabilize the table on uneven surfaces.
The steel frame and chipboard tabletop of Dukdalf can be disassembled and are therefore interchangeable. As a result, the design has many applications which will allow you to give your Dukdalf a second life at some point. The steel frame is recyclable and the chipboard tabletop can be returned to Gispen in time to be reused for the manufacturing of new products, such as dividing screens or wall linings.
Gispen believes firmly in its circular model, which is why we already took account of returns and reuse of components and materials when we designed Dukdalf . Gispen stands for high-quality products and takes responsiblity for their entire lifespan, while reducing waste production for as far as possible.
Gispen has managed to make the tabletop of Dukdalf 100% circular. We have truly closed the loop!
of Dukdalf will be recyclable in the future.
WIth a score of 65%, Dukdalf earns 3 stars on our circular model.
