Study trip Finland

We travelled to Finland with a delegation from Gispen Presikhaaf School Furniture for a study trip. We visited numerous preschools and primary schools and talked to staff and teachers. The study trip was all about discovering how the interiors of these sites facilitate the Finnish preschool care and education system.

Fresh design

What struck us during our study trip was how fresh the interiors looked and how relaxing the atmosphere was at the places we visited. Everything has a function and is tailored to the Finnish preschool and education system. During the tours of the premises, we saw children finding their own spaces in the classrooms, playing and exploring autonomously. Creativity was encouraged by special cabinets from where children could easily grab and stow drawing supplies. Low activity tables with raised edges and storage compartments or colourful drawers underneath. Movable pin boards, colourful and playful building elements as well as play and reading houses; the rooms were arranged in such a way that the children could choose their own spots and withdraw for a while. Abundant play and learning environments, designed to reflect the pedagogical and educational vision of the Finnish education system. During our trip, we acquired an enormous amount of contemporary knowledge and inspiration. And based on our findings, we have further expanded our collection with the Finnish furniture collection WOODI. A collection that will enrich the interior of any daycare centre, after school centre or primary school. When combined with our own furniture collections, it can transform your establishment with a Scandinavian look and feel.
